How It Began:

Dad's Place is housed in a building that has been in Monte's family for years. Belonging originally to his grandparents, Monte moved the old home-place to its current location on Hwy 179, and quickly began a remodel, leaving the original floors & wooden shingle roofing. Adding tin ceilings, a custom made rustic bar, and reclaimed wood shiplap are just a few of the upgrades Monte incorporated to the original structure.

Community Involvement:

Monte, Tammy, their children, and many of the workers at Dad's Place are all active members of the Dew Fire Department. In his time away from Dad's Place, Monte is the current fire chief,  and is dedicated to serving his community. It's not unusual to see firetrucks, ambulances, and sheriff's deputy vehicles parked out front; Dad's Place proudly supports Firefighters, EMS and Law Enforcement.

Meet The Owners:

Monte and Tammy Atchley founded Dad's Place in 2017 after a longtime dream Monte had of owning his own business. Lifelong residents of Dew, Monte and Tammy wanted to open a store that catered to the residents of Dew, providing an old-timey, down-home atmosphere and a quick bite to eat. Keeping true to the country store feel and rustic decor, Dad's Place is a community hotspot for its rural customers.

Firefighter's Prayer

"When I am called to duty, God,
wherever flames may rage,
give me strength to save a life,
whatever be its age.
Help me embrace a little child
before it is too late,
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert,
and hear the weakest shout,
quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling,
to give the best in me,
to guard my friend and neighbor,
and protect his property.
And if according to Your will
I must answer death's call,
bless with your protecting hand,
my family one and all."

Medic's Prayer

Every day I pray that I have the strength, courage and humility to do my job to the best of my ability.

I pray for both the physical and mental strength so that I may accomplish what you ask of me my Lord.

I pray for the courage to not walk on by or turn away but to do the things you ask of me even if afraid.

I pray for humility, to do the things I do without thought of reward.

My Lord I will not always have the strength, courage or humility to ask these of you, so I ask them now. Stand by me and guide me when I need you the most.

My Lord, help me to defend the rights of those who are unable to defend themselves, help me to give voices to those who are silenced, help me not to judge but to treat those who need me in their darkest hours.

Police Officer's Prayer

Lord, I ask for courage;
Courage to face and conquer my own fears...
Courage to take me where others will not go.
I ask for strength;
Strength of body to protect others...
Strength of spirit to lead others.
I ask dedication;
Dedication to my job to do it well...
Dedication to my community to keep it safe.
Give me, Lord, concern;
For all those who trust me...
And compassion for those who need me
And, please, Lord, through it all; be at my side.
